Steven M. Baker

Steven Baker is a highly experienced civil attorney who has spent his entire career representing injury victims.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from the University of California, San Diego. While obtaining his undergraduate degree, he worked as a field representative for the “Voter’s Revolt,” a grass roots movement that opposed insurance industry-backed legislation. He went on to study law at Pepperdine University, where he earned his Juris Doctor.

Following his admittance to the Nevada State Bar, Steve joined Benson & Bertoldo as an associate attorney, where he practiced with an emphasis in plaintiff’s personal injury law. He has appeared in the Federal, Supreme, District and Justice Courts of the State of Nevada, in addition to several local courts of special jurisdiction. Steve has also appeared in the District and Superior Courts of the State of Arizona, as well as Courts in both California and Oregon. In 1997, Steve became a partner with Benson, Bertoldo & Baker.

Steve serves on the Nevada Trial Lawyers Board of Governors and is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, and the Clark County Bar Association. He is a past member of the Clark County Bar Association Legal Education Board, and a past Co-chair of the CCBA Community Service Division. Steve is also a well-regarded Senior Attorney for Trial by Peers, serves on the Southern Nevada Medical Legal Screening Panel, and has been nominated to serve as President of “Nevada Watch,” a consumer advocacy group responsible for monitoring issues involving consumer rights. Like all partners of Benson, Bertoldo, Baker & Carter, Steve is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

In addition to his law practice, Steve teaches law at the Community College of Southern Nevada, writes and lectures extensively on legal issues, is involved with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, and serves as a mentor for the Clark County School District. Most of all, though, Steve loves to spend family time with his wonderful wife, Heather, and his daughter, Dylan Sage.
