Steven M. Baker

Steven Baker is a highly experienced civil attorney who has spent his entire career representing injury victims.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from the University of California, San Diego.  While obtaining his undergraduate degree, he worked a field representative for the “Voter’s Revolt”, a grass roots movement that opposed insurance injury and backed legislation. He went on to study law at Pepperdine University, where he earned his Juris Doctor.

After being admitted to the Nevada State Bar, Steve joined Benson & Bertoldo as an associate attorney, where he practiced with an emphasis in plaintiff’s personal injury law. He has appeared in the Federal, Supreme, District and Justice Courts of the State of Nevada, in addition to several local courts of special jurisdiction. Steve has also appeared in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Trial and Bankruptcy Courts in the State of Arizona, as well as Trial Court in both California and Oregon. In 1997, he became a partner with Benson, Bertoldo & Baker.

Steve is the 2009 President of the Nevada Justice Association. He also serves on the Boards of Citizen’s for Justice, the Nevada Foundation for Consumer Education, and Young Isreal Aish of Las Vegas. He is a past member of the Clark County Bar Association Legal Education Board, a past Co-Chair of the CCBA Community Service Division, a past Senior Attorney for the Trial by Peers program, and a Big Brother in the Big/Little Brother program. He also served on the Southern Nevada Medical Legal Screening Panel, and has been selected as a Colleague of the Nevada Law Foundation.

Like all partners of Benson, Bertoldo, Baker & Carter, Steve is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. In 2009 he was selected as a Mountain States Super Lawyer. In addition to his law practice, Steve teaches law at the Community College of Southern Nevada, writes and lectures extensively on legal issues, and presents the Brown Bag Continued Legal Education seminar series for Southern Nevada. Also, he proudly serves as Special Counsel to the Mexican Consulate of the State of Nevada. Most of all, though, Steve loves to spend family time with his wonderful wife, Heather, and his daughter, Dylan Sage.
