Las Vegas Officials Investigate Trench Accident
A Nevada trench accident that killed a man is now under investigation in Reno. Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are trying to understand how the deadly trench collapse might have occurred.
Clayton Gregory, Travis Cruz, and Anthony Smith all work for the Western States Equipment and Bobcat Service. The men were installing a storm drain pipeline at Somersett Golf Course when the side of the trench gave way, trapping the men.
Travis Cruz was hospitalized and in critical condition while Anthony Smith suffered a sprained ankle after being trapped for four hours. Clayton Gregory, who was 20 years old, died during the cave in.
Reno officials are still investigating the possible causes of this traumatic and deadly Nevada work related accident.
